DETAILS
JAX Cooking Studio Summer Camps are sure to be a highlight of your child’s summer! Each day blends hands-on instruction with plenty of fun—giving kids the skills and confidence to recreate their favorite recipes at home. Each week, we feature a different camp theme and recipes. Kids will learn, cook, and then eat what they prepare. Yum!
AGES: Camps are intended for kids 7-17 years old. Campers must be capable of following directions and cooperating with others in the class.
DIETARY RESTRICTIONS: We are happy to accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions. Just let us know when you register.
TEAMWORK: Kids will work in teams of 2 or 3 to cook the day’s recipes.
WHAT TO BRING: Kids should bring a water bottle. For safety, kids should wear closed-toed shoes and keep long hair tied back or in a hat. They’ll eat while they’re here, so there’s no need to bring a snack.
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR SUMMER CAMPS:
The cost of Summer Camp includes a $50 non-refundable camp deposit.
If your child is unable to attend the summer camp session for which you registered, please inform us in writing as soon as possible at hello@jaxcookingstudio.com.
If you cancel at least 21 days before the first day of the camp, we will issue you a credit for the cost of the camp less the deposit or a refund for the cost of the camp less the deposit and the credit card processing fees we encountered.
If you provide at least 14 days’ notice, we will attempt to rebook the summer camp session. If rebooked, we will provide you with a 1-year credit for the camp cost minus the deposit.
If we are not able to rebook the camp session or if you provide less than 14 days’ notice, we regret that no refund or store credit will be issued. You are welcome to gift the camp session to another child and provide us with that child’s contact information.
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR MONDAY EVENING CLASSES
If you are unable to attend the class for which you registered, please inform us as soon as possible. If you notify us at least 7 days before the class date, we will issue you a full refund of the class price less the cost of the credit card processing fees we encounter or a credit of the class price. If you notify us at least 5 days in advance, we will issue a 1-yr credit for a future class. If you are not able to provide 5 days’ notice, we will attempt to rebook the class. If we are successful, we will provide you with a 1-yr credit which you may use on future classes. If we are not able to rebook the class, we regret that no refund or store credit will be issued. By that time, we will have committed staff and resources and purchased food based on our confirmed bookings. We hope you will make someone very happy by gifting your cooking class!
If you purchase 6 or more tickets for a single class, we require a 30-day notice before the class date to cancel that reservation. In that instance, we will issue you a credit valid for one year. No credit card refunds will be offered.
a fun camp where the kids actually learn something!
Policies
PARENTS IN THE STUDIO: Parents may enter the cooking studio to drop off and pick up their children. Other than that, they are permitted in the studio only during the first and the last five minutes of each camp day.
CHILDREN BECOMING ILL: If a child begins to display symptoms of illness once at camp, the parent/guardian will be required to pick up the ill child within thirty minutes of being notified by JAX Cooking Studio that the child is ill.
THE COOKING EXPERIENCE: We aim to have each child get as much hands-on cooking experience as possible. Children will work together in groups of 2-3 to make the recipes.
HAND-WASHING: Hand-washing sinks are spaced throughout the cooking studio. Children will be taught the proper way to wash their hands. They will be prompted many times throughout the camp session to wash their hands.
No studying required!
Curriculum
Our camps are hands-on, and the kids eat what they make each day. Yum! In our collaborative environment, we:
• Promote kitchen safety, including hand and workspace sanitizing, proper food handling, and knife safety
• Practice math by following recipes and measuring ingredients
• Arrange the kitchen workplace for success
• Discuss food science, nutrition, and keeping our bodies healthy
• Encourage creativity in reusing or repurposing ingredients already on hand
• Become experts in cleaning up the kitchen
• Learn to work independently and as a team!

What People Are Saying
“Welcoming and knowledgeable staff”
“If you haven’t tried Jax Cooking Studio, you must!! I recently took my 5 year old grandson there. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable and very helpful–instructions were given clearly and printed recipes were available at every station. Very well organized and very clean!“
Cheryl
“My children made me dinner!”
“My girls enjoyed the cooking classes so much that they made a dinner of fresh made pasta on their own last night.I can’t thank JAX Cooking Studio enough for their wonderful classes and for giving my children the confidence and desire to cook!“
Lauren
“My Son is ‘resident chef’ at his college dorm”
“Thank you for the skills your staff taught my son in summer camp. He started college this fall and has become the “resident chef” for his dorm mates. He loved the class at the time but I had no idea he would retain and use that knowledge.
Keep up the good work!”
Tina
“Fantastic way to foster my child’s love of cooking”
“This is a fantastic way to foster your child’s love of cooking and baking! The recipes are so good and easy to follow. The party was a blast and all the children left with the cupcakes and banana bread they made themselves. Highly recommend!“
