How do I see all the classes posted?

We post classes about 3-4 months of classes at a time on our class page. There are three ways to access those: 1) from the class page, click the  “ >” in the top left above the class photos to move to the next page; 2) click “Next Classes >” on the bottom right to advance; 3) click on the date range on the top left and use the calendar to select the date you would like to view.

How long do classes last and what's included?

Classes typically last 2.5 hours. We provide ingredients for the recipes, chef-led instruction, hands-on cooking experience, aprons to use, a full meal, complimentary wine, and copies of the recipes to take home. We set up and clean up, and you show up and have fun! Come hungry because you will be eating what you prepare at our communal dining tables!

What is the typical class size?

The typical size of classes available to the public in our hands-on cooking classes is 16-18 guests.

Do I get to eat what I cooked?

Absolutely! Guests enjoy the food they have prepared at our communal dining tables. One of our greatest pleasures is seeing people who were strangers at the beginning of class leave as friends. We also encourage you to ask questions of our chefs to increase your culinary knowledge and confidence.

Who will I be cooking with?

If you purchase 2 or 3 tickets, you and your guests will work at one of our nine cooking stations to prepare your meal together. If you purchase a single adult ticket, you will be working at a station with another person to prepare your meal. However, during registration, you will have the opportunity to indicate if you would like to cook with another person(s) registering independently.

Can you accommodate special dietary restrictions?

Yes! During the checkout process you will be prompted to enter dietary restrictions. The chefs will use that information to prepare the ingredient trays for you and the others at your cooking station. While we try to get as close as possible to the original gluten-containing recipe, we are not able to guarantee a direct match of ingredients. We also offer plant-based vegan classes each month. If you have specific questions please contact us at info@jaxcookingstudio.com or (904) 379-6220.

May I reschedule or cancel a class?

If you are unable to attend the class for which you registered, please inform us as soon as possible. For purchases of 5 or fewer tickets for a class, if you notify us at least 7 days before the class date, we will issue you a full refund of the class price less the cost of the credit card processing fees we encounter. If you notify us at least 5 days in advance, we will issue a credit for a future class valid for one year.

If you purchase 6 or more tickets for a single class, we require a 30-day notice before the class date to cancel that reservation. In that instance, we will issue you a credit valid for one year. No credit card refunds will be offered.

If you are not able to provide the required notice, we will attempt to rebook your tickets. If we are successful, we will provide you with a credit which you may use on future classes. If we are not able to rebook the tickets, we regret that no refund or store credit will be issued. By that time, we will have committed staff and resources and purchased food based on our confirmed bookings. We encourage you to gift your tickets to a friend or relative if that occurs.

Note: please see the cancellation policy on the Summer Camp page for the policies specific to these camps.

What should I wear to class?

We recommend that you wear closed-toe shoes, minimal jewelry, comfortable clothing, and have long hair secured. We will provide an apron to use during the cooking class.

May children attend an adult class?

Children of any age accompanied by an adult may attend "Family" classes. Children 16 or older may attend "Adult" classes. Children 14 or older may attend "Adult" classes if accompanied by someone at least 21 years of age. Children 7 or older may cook without an adult present in our "Kids" classes.

How often are classes repeated?

Most classes are repeated every 1-3 months with menus changing periodically. If you have a suggestion for a new class email us at info@jaxcookingstudio.com

May I take photos or videos in class?

Absolutely! We encourage you to take photos or videos. Please tag JAX Cooking Studio on Facebook or Instagram so that others may enjoy them, too. We may also take photos and/or videos and post them on our website, share them on social media, or use them in print ads or our newsletter.

Do you offer kids' birthday parties?

A cooking birthday party is such fun! The event is two hours long, and the kids do hands-on cooking for 90 minutes. During the last 30 minutes, they enjoy eating the food they made and celebrating the birthday child.

Choose a menu, set a date and time, and your birthday planning is complete! Contact us for more info at info@jaxcookingstudio.com.

Do you have a waitlist if the class I want is full?

Yes, if a class is full, please contact us at info@jaxcookingstudio.com. We will place you on the wait list and notify you if space becomes available. Please remember to specify the date and title of the cooking class you are interested in attending.

Will JAX Cooking Studio ever cancel classes?

On a rare occasion, we may need to cancel a class due to inclement weather or low enrollment. If we cancel a class, we will notify you as soon as possible and give you the option to obtain a complete refund or be placed in another class.

My daughters and I recently attended a pasta making class that was wonderfully taught.  The girls enjoyed it so much they made fresh made pasta on their own last night. Thank you, JAX Cooking Studio, for giving my children the confidence and desire to cook
