Summer Cooking for Older Kids: Tour of Asia

Embark of a culinary adventure as we take you on a tour through Asia. Our chefs will teach you a little bit of everything, from some of the most popular Asian recipes. From making dumplings to samosas and fried rice, you’ll get a taste of the bold and complex flavors that encompass what makes Asia so special. Whether you are preparing your child to fly the nest and want him to learn to make inexpensive, healthy meals, or whether you just want to hang out with her in a fun interactive setting, our Monday evening summer series is for you!
Ages:Â This series is appropriate for children 12 or older coming alone, or adults coming with a child 10 or older.
Menu:
Tom Yum Soup – Aromatic soup from Thailand made with coconut milk
Chinese Shrimp Goyza – Steamed shrimp dumplings served with soy dipping sauce
Indian Samosas – Puff pastry stuffed with spiced potatoes, peas, and onions with house made tomato chutney
Nasi Goreng – Indonesian fried rice made with shrimp, chicken, and topped with an egg
Matcha Chocolate Chip Cookies – Twist on a Japanese favorite!
Pricing:
$75 per adult
Chef’s Kitchen: Guests in the Chef’s Kitchen cook the same menu as the rest of the class; however, they use the gas cooktop and convection ovens in the Chef’s Kitchen, and they dine at a special table set up for just them.
Cooking Station Assignments:
Two or three people who register together will cook the menu items with each other. Our goal is to have guests do as much as possible in the time allotted given the restrictions of appliances and cooktop space. If you purchase a single adult ticket, you will be assigned to work at a station with another person who purchases a single ticket.
Each person (adult and child) will receive enough ingredients to prepare a generous portion of every menu item or one cake per person for cake decorating classes.
Gratuity:
Leaving a gratuity is not required but appreciated if you enjoyed your cooking experience.
