Summer Cooking for Older Kids: Florida Seafood Favorites

We are lucky to live in Florida where seafood is abundant year round on the First Coast. Join us as our Chef teaches you to prepare a quick, impressive meal taking advantage of our coastal bounty. From fresh crab cakes to coconut shrimp tacos you’ll be in seafood heaven! We will finish the evening on a sweet Florida note by making a Key Lime Tartlet. Whether you are preparing your child to fly the nest and want him to learn to make inexpensive, healthy meals, or whether you just want to hang out with her in a fun interactive setting, our Monday evening summer series is for you!
Ages:Â This series is appropriate for children 12 or older coming alone, or adults coming with a child 10 or older.
Menu:
Fresh Crab Cakes with Lemon Caper Remoulade Sauce
Crispy Coconut Shrimp Tacos with Pineapple Salsa
Creamy Dill Coleslaw
Guest Made Yellow Rice with Bell Peppers and Cilantro
Key Lime Pie Tartlet with Homemade Whipped Cream
Pricing:
$75: per person
Chef’s Kitchen: Guests in the Chef’s Kitchen cook the same menu as the rest of the class; however, they use the gas cooktop and convection ovens in the Chef’s Kitchen, and they dine at a special table set up for just them.
Cooking Station Assignments:
Two or three people who register together will cook the menu items with each other. Our goal is to have guests do as much as possible in the time allotted given the restrictions of appliances and cooktop space. If you purchase a single adult ticket, you will be assigned to work at a station with another person who purchases a single ticket.
Each person (adult and child) will receive enough ingredients to prepare a generous portion of every menu item or one cake per person for cake decorating classes.
Gratuity:
Leaving a gratuity is not required but appreciated if you enjoyed your cooking experience.
