DATES: Nov 2, 9, 16. 30
Description:
Our Homeschool and After School Cooking Series for Kids gives students the opportunity to build real kitchen confidence through hands-on culinary experiences. Because menus change every month, students can continue developing new skills throughout the year while enjoying fresh and exciting culinary experiences every session. At the end of each class, the kids enjoy the food they have prepared.
Features of each monthly kids’ series:
– New recipes and menus
– Practical kitchen techniques and cooking methods
– Food safety and kitchen organization
– Teamwork, creativity, and independence
– Exposure to cuisines and flavors from around the world
What will students learn?
Students learn practical kitchen skills including measuring, mixing, baking, cooking techniques, knife safety, kitchen organization, teamwork, and food safety — all in a fun and engaging environment.
Our rotating monthly menus allow returning students to continue learning new techniques, recipes, and culinary concepts throughout the year. Every series offers a fresh experience with new hands-on learning opportunities.
What ages and levels are these classes designed for?
Our kids’ cooking series classes are designed for children ages 7 and older. Classes are welcoming for both beginners and students with prior kitchen experience. We teach foundational culinary skills to novice cooks while also helping experienced young chefs continue advancing their techniques, independence, and confidence in the kitchen.
Do you accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies?
Yes! During the checkout process, you will be asked to provide any dietary allergies or restrictions. The chefs will prepare the ingredient trays appropriately.
Do the kids get to eat what they make in class?
Yes! Students enjoy tasting and eating the recipes they prepare during class. We believe hands-on cooking and tasting are both important parts of the culinary learning experience.
Is this program accepted by Step up for Students?
Yes! Many of our home school students use the Step up for Students scholarship. To be reimbursed, you will need to provide Step up for Students your invoice and include your child’s name and our executive chef’s name and credentials. We’re happy to help you gather the required documentation for your submission.
