Learn basic cooking methods and techniques in our Adult Cooking Series. These classes are suitable for the beginner cook or those who simply want a refresher. You will learn knife skills; how to enhance flavors with marinades, brining, and dry rubs; how to make pasta dough from scratch; how to sear, sauté, stir-fry, and poach; and how to use sauces and condiments to elevate your dishes. We will be eating what we prepare, so come with a healthy appetite! Complimentary wine will be served.

Pricing: $300 for Four-Week Series

Description:  Learn to prepare delicious menus in this four-week adult cooking series. Whether you’re a cooking enthusiast looking to expand your culinary repertoire or a beginner eager to learn the basics, this series is perfect for you! We explore cooking techniques that are the foundations for all recipes so directions in the recipes make sense. Complimentary wine (evening classes) or coffee and mimosas (morning classes) will be served during the cooking experience.  

March 3: Le déjeuner, it’s French for Lunch

  • French onion soup- A classic French soup with caramelized onions in a rich broth
  • Salad nicoise- A vibrant salad featuring tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs, olives, anchovies, and tuna.
  • Croque monsieur- A grilled ham and cheese sandwich with Mornay sauce.
  • Mornay sauce- A béchamel sauce with cheese added
  • Rum Poached Pears- Pears poached in a sweet rum syrup

March 10: Caio! Italian Classics

  • Caprese Salad- An Italian salad with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil
  • Chicken Marsala- Chicken sautéed in a Marsala wine sauce.
  • Garlic Green Beans
  • Tiramisu Italiano- A classic Italian dessert with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers, mascarpone cream, and cocoa powder
  • Creamy Polenta with Parmesan- A creamy cornmeal topped with Parmesan cheese

March 24: Luck of the Irish

  • Irish Brown Bread- A dense, hearty bread made with molasses
  • Irish Stew Pie- A classic Irish savory pie
  • Colcannon- A traditional Irish dish of mashed potatoes with cabbage
  • St Patty’s themed Sugar Cookies- Sugar cookies decorated with St. Patrick’s Day themes, such as shamrocks

March 31: Thai Time

  • Thai Glass Noodle Salad- A light and refreshing salad with glass noodles and vegetables
  • Fruit Summer Rolls- Rice paper rolls filled with fresh fruit
  • Oven Roasted Chicken Satay- Skewers of marinated chicken roasted in the oven and served with a peanut sauce.
  • Coconut Rice – Sticky rice cooked in coconut milk
  • Green Curry Shrimp- Shrimp cooked in a fragrant green curry sauce with coconut milk and vegetables.

 

 

Cancellation Policy:
If you are unable to attend a cooking series for which you registered, please inform us as soon as possible. If you notify us at least 21 days before the first day of the series, we will issue you a refund for the amount you paid less the credit card processing fees we encountered. If you provide at least 7 days’ notice, we will attempt to rebook the series, and if we are successful, we will provide you with a credit valid for one year which you may use on future classes. If we are not able to rebook the series or if you provide less than 7 days’ notice, we regret that no refund or store credit will be issued. You are welcome to gift the series to another person, and provide us with the contact information for that person.

Gratuity: Leaving a gratuity is not required but appreciated if you enjoyed your cooking experience.
