DESCRIPTION:You don’t have to travel to Louisville to enjoy the Kentucky Derby! Have fun at JAX Cooking Studio this afternoon where you’ll learn to make a party spread fit for a winner! We’ll start with a triple crown cucumber appetizer\, then move into Kentucky hot browns with a fresh spring salad\, and we’ll finish the class with chocolate bourbon truffles and mint julep cupcakes. Dress to impress with a funky or fun hat or clothes for some added fun! Complimentary wine-based mint juleps and a variety of other wines will be served during this cooking experience. \nMenu:\nTriple Crown Cucumber Smoked Salmon Rolls with Dill and Cream Cheese\nKentucky Hot Browns – Pillowy toasted bread piled high with turkey\, Mornay sauce\, tomatoes\, and bacon\nSpring Salad of Mixed Greens\, Goat Cheese\, Radish\, Cherry Tomatoes\, Peas\, and Lemon Vinaigrette\nDerby Chocolate Bourbon Truffles Dusted with Gold Sugar\nMint Julep Cupcakes with a Bourbon and Mint Buttercream \nPricing:\n$70 per adult and children 14 years or older\n$125: One adult with one child 13 years or younger.\n$180: One adult with two children 13 years or younger.\nChef’s Kitchen: Guests in the Chef’s Kitchen cook the same menu as the rest of the class; however\, they use the gas cooktop and convection ovens in the Chef’s Kitchen\, and they dine at a special table set up for just them. \nAges:\nFamily Classes: Children of any age accompanied by an adult may attend Family cooking classes.\nChild-Only Classes: Children 7 or older may cook without an adult present in our “Kids” classes.\nAdult Classes: Children 16 or older may attend Adult classes with or without an adult. Children 14 or older may attend Adult classes if accompanied by someone 21 or older. \nCooking Station Assignments:\nTwo or three people who register together will cook the menu items with each other. Our goal is to have guests do as much as possible in the time allotted given the restrictions of appliances and cooktop space. If you purchase a single adult ticket\, you will be assigned to work at a station with another person who purchases a single ticket. \nEach person (adult and child) will receive enough ingredients to prepare a generous portion of every menu item or one cake per person for cake decorating classes. \nGratuity:\nLeaving a gratuity is not required but appreciated if you enjoyed your cooking experience.
