Along our journey\, we’ll gain an understanding of the people who live in these international destinations by discussing their culture and history. \nJuly 26-30 — International Street Food\nDay 1: Let’s Go To Mexico – Chicken Tacos; Elote; Design Your Own Salsa; Skillet Queso Dip; Mexican Hot Chocolate Sundaes\nDay 2: Inspired by Asia – Vegetable Tempura; Thai Chicken Street Noodles; Chicken Yakitori; Potstickers; Frushi (Fruit Sushi Made with Rice Paper)\nDay 3: South America – Argentinian Beef Empanadas; Pastels from Brazil (savory thin and crispy filled pizzas); Ecuadorian Espumillas with Blackberries (light and fluffy meringue dessert)\nDay 4: European Vacation – Savory and Sweet Crepes from France; Spanakopita from Greece; Bavarian Pretzels from Germany Dipped in Cheese Fondue from Switzerland; Gelato from Italy\nDay 5: Nailed It! The children will work independently to recreate one of the recipes we made during the week\, putting their own unique twist on the recipe. The chefs will be available to offer guidance\, as needed or requested. \nABOUT JAX COOKING STUDIO SUMMER CAMPS\nJAX Cooking Studio Summer Camps are sure to be a highlight of your child’s summer! We teach kids basic culinary skills. They learn to work independently and in teams to cook the day’s recipes. Each week\, we feature a different camp theme\, so your child can choose the most interesting topic. At the end of each day\, campers eat the recipes they prepared. \nPRICING:\n$315 per child for five days of camp\, 3 hours per day. \nDISCOUNT FOR TWO CAMPS OR TWO CHILDREN: \nRegistering for two camps? Save $10 off each camp ($20 total) by entering Code “SummerCooking2” in the Promo Code (not Gift Certificate) box on the Checkout page. \nCURRICULUM\nDepending upon the camp selected\, you can expect your child to learn some or all of the following in our hands-on classes:\n1.  how to be safe in the kitchen\, including hand and workspace sanitizing\, proper food handling\, including how to wash food; knife safety;\n2.  how to read and follow a recipe;\n3.  how to arrange the kitchen workplace so that all the items needed for the recipe are located and placed nearby (mise en place);\n4.  how to accurately measure ingredients using measuring cups\, measuring spoons\, and kitchen scales;\n5.  how to bake/roast\, stew/braise\, stir-fry\, make sauces and soups;\n6.  the difference between whole and processed foods and how each affects health;\n7.  the importance of sustainability and eating what is in season;\n8.  how to reuse or repurpose ingredients already on hand; and\n9.  how to clean up the kitchen. \nAGES: The series is appropriate for kids ages 6 and above. In order to ensure the maximum benefit for all children\, your child must be capable of following directions and cooperating with others in the class. \nCLASS SIZE LIMIT: Due to the level of individualized attention\, we accept only 16 to 18 children per session. \nCANCELATION POLICY: If your child is unable to attend the summer camp session for which you registered\, please inform us as soon as possible. If you notify us at least 15 business days before the first day of the camp\, we will issue you a full refund for the cost of the camp less the credit card processing fees we encounter. If you are not able to provide 15 business days’ notice\, we will attempt to rebook the summer camp session. If we are successful\, we will provide you with a credit which you may use on future classes. If we are not able to rebook the camp session\, we regret that no refund or store credit will be issued. You are welcome to gift the camp session to another child\, and provide us with that person’s name\, age\, and contact information. \nSUMMER CAMP POLICIES AND WAIVERS\nWhen you enroll your child in a JAX Cooking Studio summer camp session\, you indicate that you have read and accepted the policies\, procedures\, terms and conditions\, and waivers of liability set forth on this page or emailed to you before the start of the camp session.
