DESCRIPTION:Join us at JAX Cooking Studio to learn the art of crafting your very own lasagna! From the pasta\, to the meat sauce\, to the cheese filling\, our chef will show you how to make each component from scratch to create the ultimate comfort food! You’ll be eating the masterpiece you create for dinner\, so come hungry! Whether you are preparing your child to fly the nest and want him to learn to make inexpensive\, healthy meals\, or whether you just want to hang out with her in a fun interactive setting\, our Monday evening summer series is for you!. \nAges: This series is appropriate for children 12 or older coming alone\, or adults coming with a child 10 or older. \nMenu:\nItalian Chopped Salad with Lemon Vinaigrette\nPasta from Scratch\nBolognese Sauce\nRicotta Cheese Filling\nChocolate Mousse with Home-made Whip Cream \nPricing:\n$75: per person\nChef’s Kitchen: Guests in the Chef’s Kitchen cook the same menu as the rest of the class; however\, they use the gas cooktop and convection ovens in the Chef’s Kitchen\, and they dine at a special table set up for just them. \nCooking Station Assignments:\nTwo or three people who register together will cook the menu items with each other. Our goal is to have guests do as much as possible in the time allotted given the restrictions of appliances and cooktop space. If you purchase a single adult ticket\, you will be assigned to work at a station with another person who purchases a single ticket. \nEach person (adult and child) will receive enough ingredients to prepare a generous portion of every menu item or one cake per person for cake decorating classes. \nGratuity:\nLeaving a gratuity is not required but appreciated if you enjoyed your cooking experience.

We teach kids basic culinary skills. They learn to work independently and in teams to cook the day’s recipes. Each week\, we feature a different camp theme\, so your child can choose the most interesting topic. At the end of each day\, campers eat the recipes they prepared. \nPRICING\n$340 per child for five days of camp\, 3 hours per day. \nCURRICULUM\nDepending upon the camp selected\, you can expect your child to learn some or all of the following in our hands-on classes:\n1. how to be safe in the kitchen\, including hand and workspace sanitizing\, proper food handling\, including how to wash food; knife safety;\n2. how to read and follow a recipe;\n3. how to arrange the kitchen workplace so that all the items needed for the recipe are located and placed nearby (mise en place);\n4. how to accurately measure ingredients using measuring cups\, measuring spoons\, and kitchen scales;\n5. how to bake/roast\, stew/braise\, stir-fry\, make sauces and soups;\n6. the difference between whole and processed foods and how each affects health;\n7. the importance of sustainability and eating what is in season;\n8. how to reuse or repurpose ingredients already on hand; and\n9. how to clean up the kitchen. \nAGES\nThe series is appropriate for kids ages 7 and above. In order to ensure the maximum benefit for all children\, your child must be capable of following directions and cooperating with others in the class. \nCANCELATION POLICY\nWhen you register your child for a spot in our cooking series\, we reserve one of our 18 spots for your child. We purchase ingredients and schedule the appropriate number of staff to ensure that your child has a wonderful and educational experience. If you notify us at least 21 days before the first day of the camp\, we will issue you a full refund less the credit card processing fees we encountered. If you provide at least 7 days’ notice before the camp\, we will attempt to rebook your child’s spot. If we are successful\, we will provide you with a credit valid for one year which you may use on future classes. If we are not able to rebook your child’s camp spot or if you provide less than 7 days’ notice\, we regret that no refund or store credit will be issued. SUMMARY:Summer Cooking for Older Kids: An Evening in Paris
DESCRIPTION:Join us at JAX Cooking Studio and reminisce of sitting in a French bistro enjoying the delightful sights and sounds of Paris. We will use classic French recipes to craft both sweet and savory dishes. From a croque madam to eclairs\, you’ll feel like you’re in Paris! Whether you are preparing your child to fly the nest and want him to learn to make inexpensive\, healthy meals\, or whether you just want to hang out with her in a fun interactive setting\, our Monday evening summer series is for you! Bon appétit! \nAges: This series is appropriate for children 12 or older coming alone\, or adults coming with a child 10 or older. \nMenu:\nSummer Tart with Bacon\, Mushrooms\, Goat Cheese\, Fresh Arugula\, and Truffle Oil\nCroque Madam –  a delightful sandwich made of brioche stuffed with gruyere\, ham\, a soft-fried sunny side up egg\, and béchamel sauce\nParisian Salad – A beautiful salad of cherry tomatoes\, feta cheese\, red onion\, radish\, candied nuts with a Dijon vinaigrette\, side salad for the croque madam\nCream Puffs and Eclairs – we’ll finish on a sweet note by making Pate Choux dough into pastries filled with sweet cream and glazed with rich chocolate ganache \nPricing:\n$75: per person\nChef’s Kitchen: Guests in the Chef’s Kitchen cook the same menu as the rest of the class; however\, they use the gas cooktop and convection ovens in the Chef’s Kitchen\, and they dine at a special table set up for just them. \nCooking Station Assignments:\nTwo or three people who register together will cook the menu items with each other. Our goal is to have guests do as much as possible in the time allotted given the restrictions of appliances and cooktop space. If you purchase a single adult ticket\, you will be assigned to work at a station with another person who purchases a single ticket. \nEach person (adult and child) will receive enough ingredients to prepare a generous portion of every menu item or one cake per person for cake decorating classes. \nGratuity:\nLeaving a gratuity is not required but appreciated if you enjoyed your cooking experience.

We teach kids basic culinary skills. They learn to work independently and in teams to cook the day’s recipes. Each week\, we feature a different camp theme\, so your child can choose the most interesting topic. At the end of each day\, campers eat the recipes they prepared. \nPRICING\n$340 per child for five days of camp\, 3 hours per day. \nCURRICULUM\nDepending upon the camp selected\, you can expect your child to learn some or all of the following in our hands-on classes:\n1. how to be safe in the kitchen\, including hand and workspace sanitizing\, proper food handling\, including how to wash food; knife safety;\n2. how to read and follow a recipe;\n3. how to arrange the kitchen workplace so that all the items needed for the recipe are located and placed nearby (mise en place);\n4. how to accurately measure ingredients using measuring cups\, measuring spoons\, and kitchen scales;\n5. how to bake/roast\, stew/braise\, stir-fry\, make sauces and soups;\n6. the difference between whole and processed foods and how each affects health;\n7. the importance of sustainability and eating what is in season;\n8. how to reuse or repurpose ingredients already on hand; and\n9. how to clean up the kitchen. \nAGES\nThe series is appropriate for kids ages 7 and above. In order to ensure the maximum benefit for all children\, your child must be capable of following directions and cooperating with others in the class. \nCLASS SIZE LIMIT\nDue to the level of individualized attention\, we accept only 18 children per session. \nCANCELATION POLICY\nWhen you register your child for a spot in our cooking series\, we reserve one of our 18 spots for your child. We purchase ingredients and schedule the appropriate number of staff to ensure that your child has a wonderful and educational experience. If you notify us at least 21 days before the first day of the camp\, we will issue you a full refund less the credit card processing fees we encountered. If you provide at least 7 days’ notice before the camp\, we will attempt to rebook your child’s spot. If we are successful\, we will provide you with a credit valid for one year which you may use on future classes. If we are not able to rebook your child’s camp spot or if you provide less than 7 days’ notice\, we regret that no refund or store credit will be issued. If you register for a camp but later wish to give that camp spot to another child\, a $25 administrative processing fee will be assessed. \nSUMMER CAMP POLICIES AND WAIVERS\nWhen you enroll your child in a JAX Cooking Studio summer camp session\, you indicate that you have read and accepted the policies\, procedures\, terms and conditions\, and waivers of liability set forth on this page or emailed to you before the start of the camp session. Whether you are preparing your child to fly the nest like Hedwig and want him to learn to make inexpensive\, healthy meals\, or whether you just want to hang out with her in a fun interactive setting\, our Monday evening summer series is for you! Butterbeer will be flowing! \nMenu:\nMandrake Salad with Weasley’s Dragon-Roasted Nuts – Mixed greens with heirloom tomatoes\, cucumbers\, red onions\, and lemon-thyme vinaigrette\nHogwarts Sear Chicken with Bacon Balsamic Glaze\nFloo Network Green Beans – Tender green beans with garlic and lemon\nGolden Snitch Potatoes – Golden yellow potatoes with goat cheese and butter\nHagrid’s HAPPEE BIRTHDAE Cake \nAges: This series is appropriate for children 12 or older coming alone\, or adults coming with a child 10 or older. \nPricing:\n$75: per person\nChef’s Kitchen: Guests in the Chef’s Kitchen cook the same menu as the rest of the class; however\, they use the gas cooktop and convection ovens in the Chef’s Kitchen\, and they dine at a special table set up for just them. \nCooking Station Assignments:\nTwo or three people who register together will cook the menu items with each other. Our goal is to have guests do as much as possible in the time allotted given the restrictions of appliances and cooktop space. This release shall be binding to the fullest extent permitted by law. If any provision of this release is found to be unenforceable\, the remaining terms shall be enforceable.

We teach kids basic culinary skills. They learn to work independently and in teams to cook the day’s recipes. Each week\, we feature a different camp theme\, so your child can choose the most interesting topic. At the end of each day\, campers eat the recipes they prepared. \nPRICING\n$350 per child for five days of camp\, 3 hours per day. \nCURRICULUM\nDepending upon the camp selected\, you can expect your child to learn some or all of the following in our hands-on classes:\n1. How to be safe in the kitchen\, including hand and workspace sanitizing\, proper food handling\, including how to wash food; knife safety;\n2. How to read and follow a recipe;\n3. How to arrange the kitchen workplace so that all the items needed for the recipe are located and placed nearby (mise en place);\n4. How to accurately measure ingredients using measuring cups\, measuring spoons\, and kitchen scales;\n5. How to bake/roast\, stew/braise\, stir-fry\, make sauces;\n6. The difference between whole and processed foods and how each affects health;\n7. The importance of sustainability and eating what is in season;\n8. Whether your child is preparing to fly the nest and you want him to learn to cook\, or you just want to hang out with her in a fun interactive setting\, JAX Cooking Studio is the place to be on Monday evenings! \nJune 9:   Star Wars Dinner Chewbacca’s Chorizo Cheese Dip\, Served with Tortilla Chips Endorian Chicken Wrap – Seared chicken strips with fresh veggies and a green curry sauce Vader Taters – Crispy oven roasted herbed potatoes  Light Saber Fruit Skewers with Yogurt Dipping Sauce  \nPricing & Gratuity:\n$75 per ticket – all attendees require a ticket.\nLeaving a gratuity is not required but appreciated if you enjoyed your cooking experience. \nAge Policies:\nChildren under 9 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. Children 9-11 may register in groups of two or more. Children 12 or older may register alone. \nCancellation Policy:\nIf you are unable to attend the class for which you registered\, please inform us as soon as possible. If you notify us at least 7 days before the class date\, we will issue you a full refund of the class price less the cost of the credit card processing fees we encounter. If you notify us at least 5 days in advance\, we will issue a credit for a future class. If you are not able to provide 5 days’ notice\, we will attempt to rebook the class. If we are successful\, we will provide you with a credit which you may use on future classes. If we are not able to rebook the class\, we regret that no refund or store credit will be issued. By that time\, we will have committed staff and resources and purchased food based on our confirmed bookings. We hope you will make someone very happy by gifting your cooking class! \nIf you purchase 6 or more tickets for a single class\, we require a 30-day notice before the class date to cancel that reservation. In that instance\, we will issue you a credit valid for one year. No credit card refunds will be offered.
