Creating Exciting Flavors without Salt

Salt is an ingredient in just about every type of processed food or restaurant meal. As a result, most of us are getting alarmingly more sodium than we need each day. Research has shown an association between sodium, high blood pressure, and inflammation. In this class, we will discuss the dietary requirement for sodium and ways you can limit the salt in your meals and still have food that tastes great. This class will be co-taught by Registered Dietitian Elle Baker and Whole Foods Cooking Specialist Chef Meg Price.
Garlic and Herb Creamy Tomato Soup — roasted garlic and fresh herbs give this classic soup depth of flavor without added salt.
Lemon Chicken Piccata — learn to create your own custom low sodium Italian seasoning! Capers and lemon will give lots of flavor without added salt.
Fall Farro Salad — this warm farro salad is packed full of fiber, protein, and antioxidants. It can be a meal in itself!
Pumpkin Midnight Snack Bars — these dessert bars utilize dates and warming spices to give lots of flavor with no additional salt or sugar, you will even learn to make your own chocolate coating from scratch!
