Frequently Asked Questions
What is the typical class size?
The typical size of classes available to the public in our hands-on cooking classes is 16 guests.
How long do classes last and do I need to bring anything?
Classes typically last 2.5 to 3 hours. JAX Cooking Studio provides chef-led instruction, aprons, all ingredients and cooking utensils, and recipe packets to take home. We set up and clean up, and you show up and have fun in our beautiful 1,800 square foot kitchen! Come hungry because we will be eating what we prepare at our communal dining tables!
Do I get to eat what I cooked?
Absolutely! Guests enjoy the food they have prepared at our communal dining tables. One of our greatest pleasures is seeing people who were strangers at the beginning of class leave as friends. Communal cooking and shared meals are a natural bonding experience. We also encourage you to ask questions of our chefs to increase your culinary knowledge and confidence.
May my children attend an adult class?
Children may attend many of our adult classes if they are accompanied by an adult (age ranges appropriate for the classes are posted on the page for each class). We also offer Kids' Cooking classes in which the children cook independently of their parents (open to kids ages 6 and up) and Parent and Me classes (open to kids of all ages).
May I reschedule or cancel a class?
We realize that plans change. If you are unable to attend the class for which you registered, please inform us as soon as possible. For individual classes, if you notify us at least 7 days before the class date, we will issue you a full refund of the class price minus the credit card processing fees we have been charged. If you notify us at least 4 days in advance, we will issue a credit for a future class. If you are not able to provide 4 days’ notice, we regret that no refund or store credit will be issued. By that time, we will have committed staff and resources and purchased food based on our confirmed bookings. We hope you will make someone very happy by gifting him or her with your cooking class!
Note: please see the cancelation policy on the Summer Camp page for cancelation policies specific to these camps.
Will JAX Cooking Studio ever cancel classes?
On a rare occasion, we may need to cancel a class due to inclement weather or low enrollment. If we cancel a class, we will notify you as soon as possible and give you the option to obtain a complete refund or be placed in another class.
Do you have a waitlist if the class I want is full?
Yes, if a class is full, please contact us at info@jaxcookingstudio.com. We will place you on the wait list and notify you if space becomes available. Please remember to specify the date and title of the cooking class you are interested in attending.
May I take photos or videos in class?
Do you offer kids' birthday parties?
A cooking birthday party is such fun! The event is two hours long, and the kids do hands-on cooking for 90 minutes. During the last 30 minutes, they enjoy eating the food they made and celebrating the birthday child.
Choose a menu, set a date and time, and your birthday planning is complete! Contact us for more info at info@jaxcookingstudio.com.
Do you offer corporate and adult special events?
Please do not hesistate to get in touch should you have further questions!
